Young Adults Ministry

Do you sometimes get that feeling that you've grown up to be a youth member but you're still young and fresh at heart to mingle with the Elders?

The Young Adult Ministry is where you belong. This ministry is aimed at closing the gap between the youth and the elderly. St Thomas has identified a need for a ministry that will bring together all members that could not identify themselves in the structure of the Church. There is great potential, skill and resources, to name a few blessings that the Church is unable to utilize or benefit from because of members not being able to find their position in the Church.

Communication Ministry

Purpose
The purpose of the Communication Ministry is to manage all the forms of communication for the church
 
Responsibilities
Manage and update the church database. Collect church members' details to update the database. Run all communications between the church and its partners. Manage all communications between the church and its members. Research and manage marketing tools used by the church. Publish bi-monthly church newsletter. Manage and update the church website.

Finance Ministry

Purpose
The purpose of the finance ministry is to manage all the financial matters of the church as a parish

Responsibilities

Prepare and communicate the yearly budget. Manage and monitor the pledging/tithing from the church members. Manage the weekly Sunday collection and contributions.Manage the church's cash flow. Provide regular financial updates to the council and the church members. Manage all expense of the church including salaries and wages. Facilitate fund raising activities

Sunday School and Confirmation Ministry

Purpose
The purpose of the Sunday School and Confirmation Ministry is to manage and conduct sunday school activitiesfor children who have not been confirmed into the church

Responsibilities
  1. Run Sunday school classes every Sunday
  2. Plan sunday school curriculum
  3. Streamline sunday school activities
  4. Conduct confirmation classes
  5. Plan and organise confirmation class retreats
  6. Mentor new confirmants within the church

Outreach and Evangelism Ministry

Purpose
The purpose of the Outreach and Evangelism Ministry is to create a spiritual link between the church and members of the community

Responsibilities
  1. Establish and facilitate a relationship between the curch and teartiary students
  2. Establish tertiary evangelism groups
  3. Manage the Thursday fellowships and home visitations
  4. Plan and schedule excursions
  5. Manage and organise couples's retreats and church events

Worship and Liturgy Ministry

Purpose
The purpose of this ministry is to plan and organise the worship service.

Responsibilities
  1. Organise the music to be sung during the service
  2. Ensure there is a liturgist and preacher for each worship service
  3. Manage the church choir
  4. Schedule and plan preachers and liturgists' workshops and meetings
  5. Research new material such as hymnals and choruses
  6. Manage the technology associated with the running of the worship service

Social and Welfare Ministry

Purpose
The purpose of the Social Ministry is to manage all the social, welfare and health matters of the church

Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate programs that address the social issues within the church
  2. Run programs that address healthy living through education and counselling
  3. Address issues of HIV/AIDS and other illnesses
  4. Engage is issues/discussions of physical, drug and substance abuse
  5. Get involved and support the homeless children/adult projects i.e. New Creation project
